RFS Waiver on the Clock, or Will Be Soon Southern Governors Mike Beebe (D-Arkansas) and Beverly Purdue (D-North Carolina) this week have joined Maryland and Delaware in making formal requests for a federal waiver of the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) in response to the U.S. drought.Last week, two Democratic governors from poultry states wrote to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) not to request a waiver, but to show support for the livestock groups who had urged EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson to use her own discretion to grant one.
