In some manner every annual crop cycle is different from its predecessors even if those differences are small enough to fade from memory over time. However, the 2020/21 crop cycle has already clocked enough differences compared to the recent past to suggest it may become a more memorable one. This is hinted at by looking at CME futures prices. CME SRW futures are trading roughly about $0.50 higher than a year ago. Soybean futures prices are running about $0.80 higher than during October 2019.
