California is likely to adopt a referendum in November requiring that foods produced via agricultural biotechnology be labeled as genetically modified. Opponents are trying to scare voters into opposing the requirement because it will raise food costs, but price is rarely a factor when there is fear for one's health -- just look at the inflation rate in healthcare services.
