The Minister of Agriculture reports that around 33.2 Mha have been planted out of the 57 Mha scheduled. Also, 93 percent of winter crops are in good condition but in certain areas winter crops are being replanted. The forecast for this year’s crop is 123 MMT of which 78 MMT is wheat. President Putin visited Crimea in mid-May and reported that Russia is showing good export dynamics for agricultural commodities during this season. On behalf of a Canadian oilseed processer WPI's team provided market analysis, econometric modeling and financial due diligence in support of a $24 million-dollar investment in a Ukrainian crush plant. Consistent with WPI's findings, local production to supply the plant and the facility's output have expanded exponentially since the investment.
