Russian Grain Markets: 17-21 October 2022 Planting Update Russian winter crop planting is still behind schedule and may be the lowest for the past five years. As of 21 October, winter crops were planted over 15.8 Mha which is 83.2 percent of the forecast and around 2 Mha behind last year. Central and Southern federal districts are behind schedule due to excessive rainfall, according to the Ministry of Agriculture of Russian Federation. This number theoretically should include annexed Crimea and newly annexed Ukrainian territories in Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia.
