Russian Grain Market: 17-24 January 2012 GRAIN COMMODITIES AND FLOUR A major recent event in the Russian grain market was the government-held auction of grains from state purchasing interventions. The 24 January event was attended by 226 Russian companies. The total amount of the grain purchased during the auction was RUB 62.7 million ($2.04 million). In the course of the auction there were 13,500 MT of 2011 harvest grain purchased, including:
10,800 MT of 3rd category milling wheat (at average price $153/MT); and, 2,700 MT of 4th category milling wheat (at average price $145/MT).
