This week, EPA extended (effective as of today) the summertime waiver for E15 until 29 August. Note the summer driving season – when E15 would otherwise be prohibited – ends on 15 September.  The beginning of the summer driving season when retail sale of E15 is prohibited starts on 1 June, but the waiver began on 1 May, the date when wholesale fuel sales from terminal storage are prohibited to meet the June retail deadline. Recall, on 23 April, WPI reported on EPA’s initial E15 waiver which was based on fuel market uncertainty.  As noted then, allowing E15 in the summer remains a complex series of short term 20 day waivers that are renewed (or denied) until “such time as the extreme and unusual fuel supply...
