An amendment to the Hurricane Sandy relief bill that would have extended livestock and specialty crop disaster assistance into next year failed in the Senate yesterday. The amendment would have extended livestock disaster assistance and the Noninsured Crop Disaster Assistance Program (NAP) for one year. That outcome leaves the farm bill still up in the air.
