Market Commentary

General Comments A sell-off in grain and soy markets after the recent big rally has been overdue, and a "Turnaround Tuesday" was the perfect opportunity for it. Grains were under selling pressure early and never traded as high as yesterday's closes. Soybeans opened a little higher and traded as much as 5 cents higher before the downward pressure from the grains took it into the red, where they stayed. Soymeal and oil also traded higher before heading south. Some traders were buying soyoil and selling meal to unwind spreads put on when strong soymeal demand supported crush margins.Although wheat, corn and the complex all finished with big losses, trading volume was actually rather light.
