It was a trade war-influenced day at the CBOT with China adding tariffs to another $60 billion of U.S. products in a retaliatory response to the latest Trump-imposed tariffs on $200 billion of Chinese goods. The back-and-forth tariffs are not really causing further damage to major agricultural markets directly, but the hope for a quick resolution to the situation is diminished with each volley. Wall Street is higher (at this writing) as investors shrug off the latest trade war developments. At this point, the market seems to be getting numb to the talk of more tariffs. The S&P 500 is up 0.6 percent, the Dow is 0.5 percent higher, and the U.S. Dollar Index is flat. Meanwhile, crude oil prices are up roughly $1/barrel after Russia blamed...
