The CBOT was mostly lower for the day with the sharp decline in crude oil futures dragging soyoil, the broader soy complex, and corn and wheat lower. There was little fresh fundamental news to guide commodity futures for the day, which gave the oil market’s plunge an outsized influence on ag futures. USDA reported more daily “flash” export sales for corn, but the market has tired from this news a bit and now seems to be waiting for the November WASDE before pricing in additional, large demand shifts.
