News Updates EGYPT COMMENTS The European Union last week announced that it could provide Egypt with $6.5 billion in loans, grants and credit lines. As expected, that amount is fully tied to the approval of the IMF's loan and can only be made once the IMF details are agreed and finalized. The EU also stated that talks on an EU-Egypt free trade agreement will move ahead quickly. The EU is Egypt's largest trade partner. Additionally, the government of Qatar will be investing up to $2.5 billion in Egyptian government bonds.
