The Philippines intends to extend the duty by three years. It is interesting to note that, even with the antidumping duty, Turkey is still the largest supplier of wheat flour to the country with just over 44 percent of all wheat flour imports. The current rate of duty for Turkish wheat flour can be as high as 29.57 percent, covering 16 named Turkish exporters. WPI’s team conducted a formal review of this decision and concluded that the current level of market saturation would limit the benefits of the investment. Based on WPI’s analysis and recommended actions, the board subsequently reversed its decision and undertook a strategic planning effort to identify more impactful investments.
