Regional Updates MEDITERRANEAN/MIDDLE EAST/NORTH AFRICA  Abu Dhabi’s Al Dhara Holdings announced plans to build five animal feed facilities in Eastern Europe (Serbia, Romania and Bulgaria). The company’s first venture is a 120,000 MT per year feed mill in Serbia with 20,000 MT of storage.  Bangladesh has banned the export of soymeal in an attempt to control the rapid price increases for animal feed. This ban was pushed ahead by the lobbying efforts of farm groups and the animal feed industry who saw high international prices attracting local soymeal for export. Infrastructure investment due diligence

On behalf of a Canadian oilseed processer WPI's team provided market analysis, econometric modeling and financial due diligence in support of a $24 million-dollar investment in a Ukrainian crush plant. Consistent with WPI's findings, local production to supply the plant and the facility's output have expanded exponentially since the investment. WPI has conducted parallel work on behalf of U.S., South American and European clients, both private and public, in the agri-food space.
