Argentina Suspends Export Tax Reductions for Soyoil and Soymeal The government of Argentina today announced that reductions in the export tax rates for soymeal and soyoil will be suspended for the next six months. Since the beginning of this year, those rates along with that for soybeans have been dropping a half-percent per month. They are currently set at 23 percent for soymeal/soyoil and 26 percent for soybeans. This suspension is intended to boost export tax revenue at a time the government is seeking to reduce its budget deficit to comply with the requirements of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
