E15 Process EPA approved the Model Misfueling Mitigation Plan for the use of E15 in 2001 and newer vehicles. This follows last month's decision by the agency to give health approval to the higher blend fuel. However, there are still a couple of hurdles before the higher blend rate can be used to knock a hole through the so-called "blend wall." One is the higher Reid Vapor Pressure (evaporation) of E15 in summer months. It would require ignoring the air quality goal of reducing volatile organic compounds. Communicating importance of value-added products
Facing increasing pressure to quantify the value of export promotion efforts to investors, a U.S. industry organization retained WPI to develop a quantitative model that better communicated the importance of exports. The resulting model concluded that value-added meat exports contributed $0.45 cents per bushel to the price of corn, increasing support for that sector’s financial support of WPI’s client. In addition to serving the red meat industry with this type of analysis, WPI has generated similar deliverables for the U.S. soybean and poultry/egg industries.
