The hard red winter wheat crop quality tour begins tomorrow and tour participants will see a very good looking U.S. winter wheat crop. In fact, some crop folks believe that yields in Kansas and Oklahoma could approach record levels. They will see conditions far different than a year ago when a severe drought still had a solid grip on the Southern Plains. The weekly crop condition ratings reflect the much improved outlook, with 63 percent of the crop rated good to excellent compared to 35 percent last year.
