End of the Year Policy Quick Hits: Farm Bill, SAF, Fertilizer, Government Funding

Farm Bill Little to no progress has been made on the farm bill, souring hopes of finishing in early 2024. The fault line remains funding. Typically, over the years of past farm bills, WPI has viewed the concern over lack of budgetary resources as a red herring issue – there is always concern expressed that there is a lack of funding available, but a new farm bill is passed with increased funding for various programs. Weighing in on strategic realignment

WPI’s team was retained by the governing board of a U.S. industry organization to review a decision, reached by vote, to invest significant assets into the development and management of an export trading company. WPI’s team conducted a formal review of this decision and concluded that the current level of market saturation would limit the benefits of the investment. Based on WPI’s analysis and recommended actions, the board subsequently reversed its decision and undertook a strategic planning effort to identify more impactful investments.
