The new House Democratic majority is in the process of making committee assignments, and the new chairmen are outlining their panels’ agendas. However, it appears that there is more up in the air than settled with the House Agriculture Committee (HAC). Meanwhile, what is known so far are Chairman Collin Peterson’s (D-Minnesota) following plans for the subcommittees:
The Conservation and Forestry subcommittee will add energy to its jurisdiction. The Commodity Exchange, Energy and Credit subcommittee will lose energy policy jurisdiction but gain rural development. The Nutrition subcommittee will effectively become the old Department of Operations and Nutrition (DONUT) subcommittee again, which it had been prior to 2015.
