This past Friday (20 September), we followed the interpretation of most by adding:  1) The cancellation of U.S. farm visits by Chinese officials, plus  2) President Trump saying that he wants a complete trade deal with China, not just agricultural commodity buying, and he doesn’t need the deal to occur before next year’s election, to conclude that bilateral trade talks were not going well. It is still unclear why the farm tour was cancelled, but officials on both sides are saying the talks were “productive.” The goal is for the two sides to meet again in October.  In a similar vein, Beijing plans to assign government officials to 100 private companies supposedly to improve the “business&rdquo...
