In the November edition of WPI's monthly publication, Ag Review, we covered the topic of Africa and agriculture. Specifically, we examined meat, milk and poultry as growth areas. Indeed, with the pace of growing protein demand around the world over the last 20 years, perhaps the last frontier for this kind of growth is Africa. According to a report from the United Nation's Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) and the Gates Foundation, Africa's demand for meat and milk will increase 145 and 155 percent, respectively, over 2005-07 levels by 2050.
