GOOD MORNING, Prices are mixed to begin the session with beans and meal higher, lower elsewhere. Rumors continue that China is in the market for beans, so will keep an eye on announcements. Beans are also deriving support from the lack of meaningful rainfall in Brazil, which continues to suggest that their planting season will be later pushing exports back to the US later in the season than normal. Grains are lower, with wheat prices leading to the downside. This market remains the most vulnerable to an eventual sell-off, at least from a technical perspective. Weighing in on strategic realignment
WPI’s team was retained by the governing board of a U.S. industry organization to review a decision, reached by vote, to invest significant assets into the development and management of an export trading company. WPI’s team conducted a formal review of this decision and concluded that the current level of market saturation would limit the benefits of the investment. Based on WPI’s analysis and recommended actions, the board subsequently reversed its decision and undertook a strategic planning effort to identify more impactful investments.
