GOOD MORNING, Prices climbed higher in the night session though wheat was mixed. The extreme cold weather sent wheat prices higher last week, with prices falling lower as temperatures ease. Uncertainty over Russian new crop export policies continue to be digested by the market. Dec. corn traded to new contract highs on good exports and higher domestic use, perhaps following Matif corn which set a new contract high for the sixth day. There is persistent chatter about US PNW export interest for corn, though there are no AM sales at this point. However, the current rally may be reflecting business done but not announced. Weighing in on strategic realignment
WPI’s team was retained by the governing board of a U.S. industry organization to review a decision, reached by vote, to invest significant assets into the development and management of an export trading company. WPI’s team conducted a formal review of this decision and concluded that the current level of market saturation would limit the benefits of the investment. Based on WPI’s analysis and recommended actions, the board subsequently reversed its decision and undertook a strategic planning effort to identify more impactful investments.
