The Senate Budget Committee will hold a hearing tomorrow entitled “Corporate Profits are Soaring as Prices Rise: Are Corporate Greed and Profiteering Fueling Inflation?” The Committee’s announcement discusses rising prices “across every major industry” with special attention on energy and the meat and poultry industries. This corresponds with hearings in other committees in the House and Senate on the theme of greed and pandemic profiteering which is in synch with the Administration’s talking points. On behalf of a Canadian oilseed processer WPI's team provided market analysis, econometric modeling and financial due diligence in support of a $24 million-dollar investment in a Ukrainian crush plant. Consistent with WPI's findings, local production to supply the plant and the facility's output have expanded exponentially since the investment.
