Russian Grain Markets: 22–26 July 2024 This season Russia will fail to produce a record crop despite an earlier harvesting campaign. The Ministry of Agriculture believes in their previous forecast of 132 MMT of which wheat is 86 MMT. Interestingly, the Ministry of Agriculture is the most optimistic while other analysts are forecasting lower levels of grain production for this season. For instance, IKAR believes in 128 MMT of which wheat is 83-84 MMT. The corn crop is forecast at 14 MMT versus 17 MMT a year ago. USDA’s July forecast shows 83 MMT of wheat. On behalf of a Canadian oilseed processer WPI's team provided market analysis, econometric modeling and financial due diligence in support of a $24 million-dollar investment in a Ukrainian crush plant. Consistent with WPI's findings, local production to supply the plant and the facility's output have expanded exponentially since the investment.
