The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) has finalized the implementing rules for Proposition 12 regarding animal confinement regulation. The rules cover space requirements for breeding sows in the state, plus pork products sold in the state from production outside California, as well as:

Egg-laying hens and the covered products of shell eggs and liquid eggs as specified Veal calves and the covered product of veal meat as specified Clarifying definitions for exceptions to confinement requirements Requirements and procedures for certification and the accreditation of third-party certifiers
