The International Grains Council’s Supply & Demand estimates indicate that global carryover of wheat and coarse grains will decline for a seventh year in a row. That seems like a startling fact. If the trend were to continue indefinitely, the world would run short of food. However, the overall stocks to use ratio remains a relatively comfortable 25 percent. Global production continues to expand and although food is not always situated where it is needed, there is ample surplus supply.
