In the most recent NASS Crop Progress report, soybean crop condition ratings rose slightly during the week ending 22 July. Those in the reporting states rated excellent increased to 18 percent from 16 percent the previous week, bringing the share in the good and excellent categories up to 70 percent from 69 percent the week prior. Despite declining from an early season high of 75, those combined categories remain near the upper end of the five-year range and well above the five-year average rating. Conditions improved in most of the 18 reporting states with the crop rating falling only in Michigan, Mississippi and Ohio. On behalf of a Canadian oilseed processer WPI's team provided market analysis, econometric modeling and financial due diligence in support of a $24 million-dollar investment in a Ukrainian crush plant. Consistent with WPI's findings, local production to supply the plant and the facility's output have expanded exponentially since the investment. WPI has conducted parallel work on behalf of U.S., South American and European clients, both private and public, in the agri-food space.
