The debt ceiling and budget agreement talks between Congress and the White House resumed yesterday, after a Sunday phone call between President Biden, as he was returning from Japan, and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (D-California). Talks wrapped up around midnight on Monday. No deal has been reached, but both sides struck an optimistic tone that progress is being made.
