Organizing of the Democratic caucuses in the Senate and House is taking shape for the 116th Congress as the slates of committee chairmen for the House and ranking minority members for the Senate have been selected. Recall that on 7 December WPI reported some opposition from environmental activists within the party to Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia, a coal-producing state, becoming the ranking member of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee.
