Leaders of the U.S. House and Senate Agriculture Committees received a letter (See Attached) yesterday from more than two dozen “former” private sector leaders of the American agriculture sector. Many previously represented farmers who have been staunch supporters of President Trump. The letter takes great issue with the Administration’s policies, falsely implying that they have led to the sector’s current economic struggles and trade deficit.  The signatories correctly describe the adverse impact of currently higher input costs due to tariffs, and funding for research and staffing has been cut.
