The EU seeks to have 25 percent of its production under organic rules by 2030 but some have doubts about whether the incentives will be large enough to the task. At present, Austria is the only member state to have already achieved the goal. Others like Malta and Ireland are far behind. Ordinarily, the price premium for organic is sufficient to cause a response in production. However, looking at a limited number of products does not provide clarity that price alone is sufficient.
