The joint OECD/FAO annual Agricultural Outlook report issued yesterday says that global meat consumption will grow by 12 percent over the coming decade (2020-2029). They also predict that half the increase in consumption will occur in poultry due to its lower cost. However, USDA’s forecast for global meat trade over that same period shows a larger gain for pork. The OECD/FAO forecasts that real prices for beef will decline the most over the period, though pork and poultry prices will also decline. Weighing in on strategic realignment
WPI’s team was retained by the governing board of a U.S. industry organization to review a decision, reached by vote, to invest significant assets into the development and management of an export trading company. WPI’s team conducted a formal review of this decision and concluded that the current level of market saturation would limit the benefits of the investment. Based on WPI’s analysis and recommended actions, the board subsequently reversed its decision and undertook a strategic planning effort to identify more impactful investments.
