El Nino has become a popular topic of conversation these days, although it probably never made the news during the 1997-98 event.Paul Douglas, a nationally respected meteorologist and writer for the Minneapolis Star Tribune newspaper, wrote some interesting comments about this El Nino in today’s edition. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) says it was the warmest autumn on record for the lower 48 states. It was the second-warmest for the Dakotas and Minnesota.
