European Market Analysis

Regional News  Grain shipments from Ukraine have been suspended (and, at this point, seem likely to remain so for at least a month) while shipments from Russia are disrupted. The disconnection of Russia from the global SWIFT international payment system will also further hamper trade from the country. Romania and Bulgaria are still able to export commodities via the Black Sea, but whether buyers will take the risks associated with trade from the region remains to be seen.  Egypt issued a tender on Saturday for wheat with April shipment and the results are expected on Monday (sometime after this writing). Forecasting developments in production agriculture

On behalf of a private U.S. agricultural technology provider, WPI’s team generated an econometric model to forecast the movement of concentrated corn production north and west from the traditional U.S. Corn Belt.
