India's spot corn price has stabilized over the past few days in most markets, but today's average price was still lower than on 1 October. Meanwhile, demand seems to be catching up, although imports seem unlikely. Corn Prices Rising with Imports Unlikely As the rabi sowing season has started, the major problem facing farmers in coming months will be irrigation. According to the government of India (GOI), the 91 major reservoirs are only 51 percent full compared with 76 percent a year ago. The kharif crop failed in southern India because of the deficient monsoon, and the only hope for farmers is the northeast monsoon that has commenced in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, which may provide rains in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.The spot corn...

On behalf of a Canadian oilseed processer WPI's team provided market analysis, econometric modeling and financial due diligence in support of a $24 million-dollar investment in a Ukrainian crush plant. Consistent with WPI's findings, local production to supply the plant and the facility's output have expanded exponentially since the investment. WPI has conducted parallel work on behalf of U.S., South American and European clients, both private and public, in the agri-food space.
