India’s Day in the Sun The G20 meeting occurs this coming weekend in the New Delhi convention center and India is making the most of its central role in the event. Although Russian President Vladmir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping will be skipping the event, they may not be missing much. Negotiators ahead of the event are having trouble reaching agreement on a range of topics including WTO reform, sustainability, and so-called Joint Statement Initiatives. Negotiating trade with India is so difficult that Canada announced it is suspending its effort at a bilateral agreement. Weighing in on strategic realignment

WPI’s team was retained by the governing board of a U.S. industry organization to review a decision, reached by vote, to invest significant assets into the development and management of an export trading company. WPI’s team conducted a formal review of this decision and concluded that the current level of market saturation would limit the benefits of the investment. Based on WPI’s analysis and recommended actions, the board subsequently reversed its decision and undertook a strategic planning effort to identify more impactful investments.
