Congress is back after recess and facing a daunting schedule through December, which could even include the 2018 Farm Bill.After the traditional August recess, Congress has returned to Washington with a Sisyphean workload that is vastly complicated by several other major issues and developments. The regular to-do list includes passage of the following:

a federal budget resolution all 12 appropriations bills an increase in the debt ceiling

The first two items need to be accomplished by 30 September, and the third is facing a critical deadline of 29 September (see Ag Perspectives, 28 August).
