It’s Tarriff Day!

It’s tariff day! President Trump followed through on his plan to impose tariffs on various imported products across the economy. At 12:01 a.m. EST today, 25 percent tariffs on Canadian and Mexican goods and an additional 10 percent tariff on Canadian energy products went into effect. President Trump also amended an Executive Order to raise the existing tariff on Chinese goods to 20 percent from 10 percent, citing China’s failure to take adequate measures to reduce the flow of synthetic opioids into the U.S.  China:  The tariff increase drew a response from China.
