USDA will release its monthly WASDE report next week on 12 July. This will be the first to include the tariffs in effect on U.S. ag exports to Canada and Mexico, which are retaliation for those imposed by the U.S. on steel and aluminum imports, in the projections. Canada has implemented new tariffs on $12.6 billion worth of U.S. goods. The retaliation list consists of items that will put political pressure on the Trump administration (e.g. steel, forest products and other manufactured goods) while trying to minimize the impact on Canadian consumers.
