It will be closed indefinitely, and following is a closer look at the impact. The plant has a capacity of approximately 6,000 head/day, and daily kills are estimated at 5,700 head. That is about 20 percent of Tyson’s capacity, 5 percent of national slaughter capacity and 23.5 percent of the slaughter capacity in Kansas. Consistent with WPI's findings, local production to supply the plant and the facility's output have expanded exponentially since the investment.
