Today, there is something for everyone – both the bulls and the bears get fed.  Generally, the market is weaker on weather and supply, but these are seasonal lows and so there is always hope for tomorrow. The late harvest simply means that the seasonal lows hang around longer. Global warming is rarely framed as a benefit, but it is at least to late planted U.S. and Canadian crops.  Until there is a change in the fundamentals, the trade is going sideways and with lower volume. Looking down the road, the USDA 30 September stocks report is likely to be bearish, but there’s continued bullish hope that the October WASDE will continue the trend set by the September report towards less production.
