Soybeans and corn were all slightly higher overnight, led by 5-6 cent gains in soybeans. Markets opened stronger than that this morning and stayed that way throughout the session. There was optimism around the markets that the Saturday evening meeting in Argentina between the U.S. and China will conclude with some sort of arrangement. Funds are quite heavily short soybeans and wheat while about even in corn. They were doing some short covering today. The most important news concerned what might happen in those trade talks as well as at the general G-20 summit.
