Market Commentary

The soy complex opened higher this morning despite overnight news that China's latest PMI number was below 50 for the first time in two-and-a-half years. Egypt's GASC announced a wheat tender after the close under its standard terms. General Comments Markets were quietly lower overnight until the soy complex had a small pop higher early this morning. That trend continued at the opening today with soybeans trading 3-5 higher, corn steady to 2 higher and wheat 2-4 lower. There was not much fresh news to star the week. Saudi Arabia did reportedly buy 690,000 MT of EU, Australian and U.S. wheat.
