The U.S. and Iran reportedly agreed to pause hostilities to allow vessels to transit the Strait of Hormuz this week (theoretically, at least). There were some rumors of a possible Chinese blockade against Taiwan. Analysts are looking for the largest U.S. 1 June corn stocks figure in 38 years, a fact that pressured markets to new contract lows Monday. Expectations are for slightly reduced corn acres and larger soybean and wheat area in the upcoming Acreage report. Funds are convinced of their bearish positions, and that is taking a toll on CBOT futures, with grains and oilseeds turning lower Monday and remaining vulnerable to further downside corrections.
