The CBOT finished sharply higher Tuesday, driven largely by three factors: yesterday’s decline in corn ratings, Chinese export purchases, and a dry Midwest weather outlook for the coming week. Those three factors prompted a massive round of fund short covering along with new long buying interest.  Hurricane Laura is expected to make landfall on the U.S. Gulf this week, though the storm’s projected path keeps shifting slightly further west. The latest models show eastern Texas being significantly impacted with the Mississippi river taking less of the storm’s impact.
