Market Commentary: Corn, Soybeans Drift Lower on Economic Worries while Wheat Makes Seasonal Gains

The CBOT was mixed on Wednesday with wheat futures continuing their slow rally while soybeans and soymeal continue to fall, despite fresh soybean export sales news. Soyoil managed to post a strong gain for the day, which was all the more impressive as it came with a 3 percent decline in crude oil and weakness in soybeans and soymeal. Corn futures traded some 6 cents lower for the day as buying enthusiasm is fading amid the view that the market has fully priced the implications of 170-172 BPA yields. Funds were cautious net buyers in wheat for the day while selling some 5-7,000 contracts each of corn and soybeans.
