The CBOT was mixed to start the week with little conviction from buyers or sellers. Corn futures tried to rally but lacked much follow-through buying interest and settled with modest gains. Soybeans were quiet but with a touch of firmness while wheat futures were mostly lower. Funds were mostly on the sidelines for today’s trading as weak longs were flushed out last week and remaining longs are adopting a “wait and see” strategy before selling or buying more.
