Corn Argentina saw just a three-day week last week with the truckers’ strike and the Friday closure of the CBOT. There were, therefore, no arrivals of trucks at ports. This was a very serious situation since the country is in the middle of corn harvest and the vessel lineup, which already exceeds 1 MMT, is increasing daily. At the beginning of the strike the ports had enough corn to continue filling ships, but now they need a quick replenishment of stocks. Weighing in on strategic realignment
WPI’s team was retained by the governing board of a U.S. industry organization to review a decision, reached by vote, to invest significant assets into the development and management of an export trading company. WPI’s team conducted a formal review of this decision and concluded that the current level of market saturation would limit the benefits of the investment.
