Wheat Argentina's wheat planting advanced another 7 percentage points over the past week, with 87.9 percent of the projected 6.5 Mha now seeded. Planting is entering its final stage across the central and northern production regions, except for parts of north-central Santa Fe, where excessive soil moisture continues to limit field access. Further south, poor field trafficability remains a more widespread issue, with between 20 percent and 40 percent of the intended area still to be planted across the main producing regions. Communicating importance of value-added products
Facing increasing pressure to quantify the value of export promotion efforts to investors, a U.S. industry organization retained WPI to develop a quantitative model that better communicated the importance of exports. The resulting model concluded that value-added meat exports contributed $0.45 cents per bushel to the price of corn, increasing support for that sector’s financial support of WPI’s client. In addition to serving the red meat industry with this type of analysis, WPI has generated similar deliverables for the U.S. soybean and poultry/egg industries.
